A meeting with Floris van Eijk, Chargé d’Affaires of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Moldova, took place in the office of President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The European diplomat was accompanied by the Embassy’s officials in charge of economic and political affairs. The PMR President is meeting with the OSCE delegation led by Bujar Osmani, the Foreign Minister of North Macedonia, chairing this year’s Chairpersonship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. In addition to the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, the group of foreign visitors to Pridnestrovie included Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Kelly Keiderling, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting and other European diplomats.

The office of President of Pridnestrovie hosted a meeting between President Vadim Krasnoselsky and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov. This is the first contact in 2023. The previous conversation was held in December last year. Despite the short period between the two meetings, the agenda has been enriched with new issues that require joint work on their solution, said Vadim Krasnoselsky, welcoming the guest.

The PMR President’s Office hosted a meeting between Vadim Krasnoselsky, Head of the Pridnestrovian State, and Margret Uebber, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Moldova. The Pridnestrovian side was also represented by PMR Prime Minister Alexander Rozenberg and PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev.

A Czech delegation arrived in Tiraspol on a working visit. The diplomats were received by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Moldova Stanislav Kázecký was accompanied by his Deputy, Counselor for Political and Consular Affairs Martin Čech. The Pridnestrovian side was also represented at the meeting by Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev.

PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky met with representatives of the U.S. Embassy in the office of the Pridnestrovian head of state. The delegation arrived in Tiraspol and was headed by U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Kent D. Logsdon. From the Pridnestrovian side PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev also joined the discussion.

The Pridnestrovian President met with the Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova. Vadim Krasnoselsky and Kelly Keiderling discussed relations between Tiraspol and Chisinau. Negotiations are currently frozen for various reasons. The sides now need a platform for communication, the President believes.

“I still come to the conclusion that it is possible to resume the meetings of the 5+2 Permanent Conference, if one is willing to do so. In any case, if official meetings cannot be held, we can hold informal meetings and consultations,” Vadim Krasnoselsky said.

A European delegation headed by the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Thomas Mayr-Harting, visited Pridnestrovie. The diplomats were received by Vadim Krasnoselsky at the Office of the PMR President. Welcoming the guests, the Pridnestrovian Head of State noted that almost five months had passed since the previous conversation. The events of this period encourage no optimism.

Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Claus Neukirch at the PMR President’s Office. The European diplomat is in Pridnestrovie on a working visit, one of the many in the last four years. He systematically visited the republic, participated in the negotiation process as an OSCE representative, came as a member of various delegations, and regularly had tete-à-tete meetings with the PMR President. The peculiarity of this visit is that it is the final one: Claus Neukirch is leaving his post as Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, which he has held since September 2018.

The Russian MFA’s delegation was headed by Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian MFA Vitaly Tryapitsyn. He was accompanied by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov, Co-Chairman of the Joint Control Commission from the Russian Federation Alexander Andreev and assistant of Vitaly Tryapitsyn Arif Gadzhiev. Pridnestrovian Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev took part in the working discussion.

PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in a plenary session of the PMR Supreme Council. One of the issues on the agenda was the statement of the Pridnestrovian parliamentarians, designed to bring the attention of the international community to the situation around Pridnestrovie, which the deputies described as volatile. Deputy Chairman Galina Antyufeyeva read out the text of the deputy statement, preliminarily noting that a meeting of the relevant parliamentary committee was held today, with the participation of the PMR Foreign Minister.
