PMR President Receives Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova

The office of the Pridnestrovian head of state hosted a meeting between PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Kelly Keiderling. The foreign diplomat was accompanied by political advisors. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR took part in the discussion.

Welcoming the guests, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted there are still many topics that need to be discussed. The agenda is rich and diverse. The PMR President mentioned the initiative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Osmani to bring together the negotiation process participants and noted that the Pridnestrovian side is ready for an equal dialogue at any venue. Vadim Krasnoselsky also referred to the statements by some Moldovan politicians claiming that the negotiating tactics of small steps is outdated and that activity of expert (working) groups is rather an imitation than real work. The PMR President stressed that such judgments are difficult to challenge in today’s realities. The head of state noted that the first priority is to ensure the safety of citizens. In this context, he deemed it appropriate to inform his interlocutors about the details of the investigation into the thwarted terrorist attacks. Kelly Keiderling was part of the OSCE delegation whose members were the target of a prevented crime.

The head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova expressed her gratitude for ensuring safety and for access to the information about the prevented terrorist act. The diplomat particularly stressed the Pridnestrovian leadership’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace even in the most challenging geopolitical context. Kelly Keiderling said that together with Bujar Osmani, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, and Thomas Mayer-Harting, Special Representative for the Pridnestrovian Settlement, they are discussing possible options for restarting a productive negotiation process.
