The Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie paid attention to the undue reaction from the office of Moldovan political representative regarding the participation of Head of the PMR Official Representation in the Russian Federation Leonid Manakov in the 51st session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
On October 5, the Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting with Celestine Greenwood, a British lawyer who had been invited by the OSCE Mission to conduct international expertise on issues related to protecting children’s rights, including adoption, in Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor, and the Ministry of Justice, who take part in meetings of expert (working) groups on social protection, humanitarian aid, and legal and documentation support for citizens.
Leonid Manakov, Head of the PMR Official Representation in the Russian Federation, addressed the participants of the 51st session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva in an online format:
“There is a significant decline in the dynamics and quality of the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and the Moldovan authorities. Over the past year, the meetings of the negotiators have been unstable, and the irresponsible approach of the Moldovan side prevents the solution of acute problems and creates new ones.
Leonid Manakov, Head of the PMR Official Representation in Moscow, held a working meeting with Andrei Markelov, Advisor to the Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma.
PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev sent a congratulatory message to the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia on the occasion of Day of Victory and Independence.
Leonid Manakov, Head of the PMR Official Representation in Moscow, held a working meeting with Igor Korelsky, Advisor to the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the UN Office in Geneva. The diplomats discussed the prospects for the Official Representation’s work at international platforms, first of all at the UN Human Rights Council.
The meeting also covered the preparing and holding of a round table on the development of practical guidelines to improve the mechanisms for implementing the rights and legitimate interests of Pridnestrovian residents in foreign countries.
PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev addressed a congratulatory message to Foreign Minister of the State of Alania Akhsar Dzhioev on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of South Ossetia.
On September 5, an online-meeting of the political representatives from Pridnestrovie and Moldova, Vitaly Ignatiev and Oleg Serebrian, with the participation of expert (working) groups on health issues took place.
The meeting focused on the issue of importing medicines to Pridnestrovie. Vitaly Ignatiev reminded of the mechanism developed by the relevant experts of the sides to unblock the import of medicines included in the Pridnestrovian list of vital and socially important medicines into the PMR.
Today there was an explosion at the entrance to the consular office of the Russian Embassy in Afghanistan. The attack resulted in the deaths of two diplomatic staff members.
The PMR Foreign Ministry addressed its condolences to the Russian Foreign Ministry on the tragedy.
“It was with great sorrow that Pridnestrovie received the news of a terrible act of terror that resulted in numerous casualties, including two employees of the Russian Embassy in Afghanistan.
We condemn the inhuman attack on the Russian diplomatic mission.
On September 2, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic celebrated the 32nd anniversary of its founding. The official celebrations in the capital traditionally opened with a wreath-laying and flower-laying ceremony at the Glory Memorial. It was attended by PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, heads and representatives of state authorities and administration, including Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev, servicemen, and the public.
Today, at the initiative of the Pridnestrovian side, an online meeting was held on the issues of importing to Pridnestrovie products for plant protection and increasing soil fertility.
Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev sent congratulations on the occasion of Republic of Abkhazia and Republic of South Ossetia Independence Recognition Day to the Foreign Ministers of these countries.

The “Family of the President for a Healthy Lifestyle” regatta was held at the Rowing Center in Bender. The team of the Foreign Ministry was among the participants of the competition. All in all, representatives of about 30 crews from ministries, departments, educational institutions, and the media took to the water.
In his welcoming speech, the President noted that this was not the first time such an event had been held. This time the decision was made to expand the range of participants and attract beginners to the competition.
On August 17, after a two-year standstill, a meeting of Pridnestrovian and Moldovan telecommunication experts was held via videoconference with representatives of mediators and observers.
The meeting mainly focused on the fulfillment of obligations under the Protocol Decision on Measures to Organize Interaction in the Field of Tele- and Electrocommunications of November 25, 2017, as well as the follow-up Roadmap of June 28, 2018.
On August 16, Chief Negotiators Vitaly Ignatiev and Oleg Serebrian met online in the presence of mediators and observers.
Opening the discussion, Vitaly Ignatiev expressed his concern about the pause in the 1+1 meetings and in the activities of relevant expert (working) groups. He stated that the situation in the negotiations has been deteriorating on account of Moldova’s unilateral actions.
At the initiative of the Pridnestrovian side, the most urgent problematic aspects between the sides were discussed, mostly fixed in the framework of the Berlin+ package of agreements.
Yesterday at the Glory Memorial in Tiraspol an event commemorating the beginning of the Patriotic War in Abkhazia was held. On August 14, 1992 Georgian troops invaded the republic.
Flower laying ceremony was held in memory of the victims. It was attended by representatives of state authorities, public organizations and residents of the republic. PMR Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandr Stetsiuk represented the Foreign Ministry.
Today, Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev met with Yuri Klimenko, Ukraine’s Special Representative in the Moldova-Pridnestrovie settlement process. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Moldova Mark Shevchenko and Deputy Foreign Minister of Pridnestrovie Alexandr Stetsiuk also participated in the working dialogue. This meeting was the first contact with Ukraine’s new representative in the 5+2 format.
Today, a meeting of experts from Pridnestrovie and Moldova took place via videoconference to discuss pressing problematic issues of current concern that arise during the medication imports. The meeting was also attended by representatives of mediators and observers in the negotiation process.
In its initiative to hold another meeting, the Pridnestrovian side proceeded from the irresponsible approach of the Moldovan side which has for two months delayed the implementation of a ready solution designed to simplify the mechanism of medication imports to Pridnestrovie.
Alexandr Stetsiuk Attended the Memorial for the Victims of the War of 2008 in South Ossetia
Today at the Glory Memorial in Tiraspol the victims of the military aggression of Georgia against the Republic of South Ossetia of 2008 were remembered.
The representatives of the state authorities, public organizations and the residents of the republic attended the event. PMR Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandr Stetsiuk represented the Foreign Ministry.
Flower laying ceremony was held in memory of the victims.
Today the Foreign Ministry received notification from the Moldovan side of its refusal of a previously planned meeting of representatives on political issues during the period proposed by Chisinau itself and a request to postpone it indefinitely.
Such passivity of the authorized representatives of the Republic of Moldova does not help to normalize the stagnating negotiation process and impedes the rapid resolution of numerous problematic issues in the interests of the people.
