On October 5, the Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting with Celestine Greenwood, a British lawyer who had been invited by the OSCE Mission to conduct international expertise on issues related to protecting children’s rights, including adoption, in Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor, and the Ministry of Justice, who take part in meetings of expert (working) groups on social protection, humanitarian aid, and legal and documentation support for citizens.
The discussion covered the most pressing issues in the dialogue with Moldova in the humanitarian sphere: the recognition of decisions on adoption and the difficulties connected with it, the interaction of the children’s services of the parties, the prospects for signing a protocol decision on the return of children left without parental custody.
Celestine Greenwood’s visit is expected to result in recommendations for settling these humanitarian aspects in relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.
