The journalists of the “Parliamentary newspaper” of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation asked President of Pridnestrovie Yevgeny Shevchuk to make a comment on the decision adopted today by the Verkhovna Rada concerning the denunciation of the agreement on transit of Russian military personnel and cargo through the territory of Ukraine to Pridnestrovie. On the threshold of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War a solemn ceremony of honouring veterans was held. During the event, President Yevgeny Shevchuk and Russian Ambassador to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin presented Pridnestrovian and Russian jubilee medals to veterans.
The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister of the PMR Tatiana Turanskaya, Deputy Prime Minister of the PMR for International Cooperation, Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski.
According to the head of the state, the Russian side during the negotiation process has consistently taken a stand against the imposition of sanctions and other restrictive measures, crippling the Pridnestrovian economy. In addition to this, Russia takes measures to support directly the Pridnestrovian economy. Inter alia, the sides agreed upon the procedures which simplify the supply of the Pridnestrovian products to the Russian markets.
“We have always expressed support for a dialogue both with Kishinev and Kiev in order to consider and resolve burning issues. We have a lot of contradictions in the economy, with the movement of people, capital, and without solving these problems it is impossible to form the climate of trust that will allow to solve more complex political problems,” - drew attention Yevgeny Shevchuk.

Attention was paid to the plans of joint events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is expected that the solemn presentation of jubilee medals of Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation to veterans will took place on April 28.
President Yevgeny Shevchuk held a meeting with representatives of the expert (working) groups from Pridnestrovie for economic issues. We remind that expert (working) groups are an integral supplementary mechanism of the negotiation format “5+2”.
