The President met with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Moldova

President Yevgeny Shevchuk received Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova Farit Mukhametshin. The issues of bilateral relation were the subject of the dialogue.

Attention was paid to the plans of joint events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is expected that the solemn presentation of jubilee medals of Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation to veterans will took place on April 28.

We remind that in January this year the Decree of the President of the PMR established a medal “70 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945”. In addition, the President took a decision to allocate extra-budgetary funds for the payment of additional financial assistance to veterans - 570 rubles per recipient. The financial assistance will be provided to participants in military operations, invalids of the Great Patriotic War, former prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos and other forced detention facilities maintained by fascists and their allies during World War II. Veterans who have Russian citizenship will also receive financial assistance of the Russian Federation.

The President thanked the Russian side for the attention to the participants of the Great Patriotic War, Russian citizens living in Pridnestrovie. “This attention is dear and valuable, especially in the year of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. I know that the entire community of Pridnestrovie is very attentive to these events. This holiday is a major one in life for veterans,” - said Yevgeny Shevchuk.
