President of Pridnestrovie Yevgeny Shevchuk received a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed by Special Representative of Ukraine for the Pridnestrovian settlement, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrei Veselovsky. Taking part in the meeting from the Pridnestrovian side was also Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski.
The sides discussed the topical issues of Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement. Attention was paid to the possible prospects for the activity of the working groups and the 5+2 format. The Pridnestrovian side focused attention on the initiatives moved within the framework of the “Permanent Conference” which proposed to take into account the complex regional economic situation and promote lifting the blockade of economic opportunities of Pridnestrovie. In the Pridnestrovian side’s opinion, it will contribute to the stabilization of the economies both of Pridnestrovie and Moldova. They also talked about the activities of economic agents of the PMR when performing foreign trade operations and realizing foreign trade contacts.
At the meeting, the Pridnestrovian side expressed concern about the continuing restrictions on freedom of movement of citizens of the Russian Federation living on the territory of Pridnestrovie, through the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border.
