The Head of Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry, Vitaly Ignatiev sent his condolences to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Masis Mayilyan on the tragic loss of the head of the Diaspora Department of the Artsakh Foreign Ministry, Yervand Hadzhiyan.

The PMR Foreign Minister stressed that in the memory of the Artsakh people Yervand Khadzhiyan will remain "a selfless, principled and consistent fighter for country’s freedom and independence, a brave and courageous citizen of his state."

On October 7, 2020, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic law enforcement agencies detained a group of people for committing a number of crimes on the territory of Pridnestrovie; it is to be noted that two of them are being active members of the security forces of the Republic of Moldova.

Certain political forces in Moldova tried to speculate on the situation for electoral purposes. As you know, Pridnestrovie takes a principled position of non-interference in internal political processes in the neighboring state.

Today, the Pridnestrovian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vitaly Ignatiev initiated a telephone conversation with the Head of the Foreign Ministry of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Masis Mayilyan.

During the conversation, Vitaly Ignatiev noted that Pridnestrovie was concerned to learn about the full-scale hostilities that started on the Artsakh-Azerbaijan border. In this regard, the diplomat expressed words of empathy for Artsakh people in connection with the conflict escalation caused by hostile armed formations’ onset.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR expresses extreme concern in connection with the armed conflict escalation due to the Republic of Azerbaijan army’s attacking actions against the Republic of Artsakh; actions that have already brought to numerous casualties on both sides.

We strongly condemn the next round of military aggression, accompanied by shelling settlements and civilian infrastructure, thus, leading to innocent civilians’ death.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the meeting of the Pridnestrovian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch.

During the conversation, diplomats lead a substantive discussion on the current situation within the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. Interlocutors expressed a common opinion as to the negative dialogue dynamics between the sides on the given stage and stated the need to give it an additional impetus.
