On November 30 – December 1, 2011, Vilnius, Lithuania, hosted the first after February 28, 2006 official meeting of the participants of the Permanent Conference on Political Issues in the Framework of the Pridnestrovien Settlement Negotiation Process, known as the 5+2 format consisting of the sides (Moldova and Pridnestrovie), mediators (the Russian Federation, Ukraine and the OSCE), and observers (the USA and the European Union).

The Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic attentively examined reaction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova to the decision of the Russian Federation to open polling stations at the forthcoming elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in Pridnestrovie due on December 4, 2011.
