Bendery Fortress Hosts Unveiling of Bust to Field-Marshal-General Pyotr Khristianovich Wittgenstein and Presentation of Cognac “Duke Wittgenstein”

On October 4, 2011, two remarkable events dedicated to one famous historical personality at once took place in Bendery Fortress. In the Pantheon of Russian Glory a bust to outstanding commander, Field-Marshal-General of the Russian Empire Duke Pyotr Khristianovich Wittgenstein was established, and in fortress citadel General Director of ZAO “Kvint” Oleg Bayev presented a 50-year-old cognac “Prince Wittgenstein”.

Sitting of Parliamentary Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations took place today in Supreme Soviet of the PMR.


Tiraspol cannot comprehend and accept the logic of the European Union that has yet again extended restrictive measures in relation to a number of Pridnestrovien representatives. 


Sufficient internal and external prerequisites moved Pridnestrovie to assent to the resumption of the 5+2 format official work.

Unveiling of the Monument to Outstanding Commander Alexander Suvorov Takes Place in Bendery Fortress

On September 15, 2011, the solemn unveiling of bust to outstanding Commander Alexander Suvorov took place in Bendery. The monument to the military commander occupied its place in the Pantheon of Russian Glory near the walls of Bendery Fortress where busts of such famous Russian military figures as Nikolay Rayevskiy, Matthias Miller, Rumyantsev and Kutuzov have already been established.


On September 8-9, 2011, German town Bad Reichenhall hosted the Conference on wider confidence building measures in Moldova-Pridnestrovie settlement process initiated by Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
