The Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic follows the development of the situation in the Republic of South Ossetia after the second round of Presidential election with deep concern. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR notes with satisfaction, that on December 9, 2011, in Tskhinval, leadership of the republic and opposition reached compromise agreement, which allows to stave off ripening civil conflict. Document, signed by the President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoyty and former presidential candidate Alla Djioeva, opened a possibility for stabilization of the situation and for its return to the framework of legal field.
The news of settlement of political dispute, reached in Tskhinval, indicate on wisdom of political élite, maturity of democratic institutions of the republic. Development of relations with South Ossetia is one of unchangeable external policy priorities for Pridnestrovie. Our countries are connected with long-term relations of close friendship and partnership. Therefore, we connect our hopes for further development of our intergovernmental and interdepartmental interaction with stabilization of the situation in Tskhinval. Mutual understanding and support, community of ideas and values, strive for development of close relations with Russia, uniting us, make up firm guarantee of success of our mutual efforts for the benefit of people of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic.
