On the Meeting with Leadership of Russian Institute of Strategic Research

Today Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vladimir Yastrebchak held a meeting with Tamara Guzenkova – head of the Centre for Research in Studies of the Countries of Near Abroad of Russian Institute of Strategic Research (RISR).

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaliy Ignatiev, Senior Staff Scientist of the RISR Vasiliy Kashirin and Pro-rector on International Relations of T.G. Shevtchenko Pridnestrovien State University Mikhail Kushakov also participated in the meeting.

Head of the PMR's MFA congratulated Russian scientist on conferment of title of honorary Doctor of Pridnestrovien State University and noted, that subject matter, connected with Pridnestrovie, became unavoidable part on scientific discourse in Russia, on the territory of CIS and abroad thanks to research activity of Tamara Guzenkova.

During the conversation interested and thorough exchange of opinions of the problems of Moldova-Pridnestrovie settlement and bilateral Russia-Pridnestrovie relations took place.

Vladimir Yastrebchak told Russian researchers about the outcomes of first official meeting of the participants of Permanent Consultations on Political Issues in the Framework of the Pridnestrovien Settlement Negotiation Process, known as 5+2 format, which was held on November 30 – December 1, 2011 in Vilnius (Lithuania).

At the instance of the Institute's research workers, Minister expressed his view on the most probable events in binding with dynamics of geostrategic processes around Pridnestrovie.

Interlocutors paid separate attention to practical problems of development of bilateral scientific and experimental cooperation. In particular, parameters of informational interaction of the PMR's MFA and the RISR, using the potential of departmental printed matters – Pridnestrovien Diplomatic Journal and Problems of National Strategies Journal.

The participants of the meeting mapped out concrete events in order to develop achieved arrangements.
