The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev met with the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Vitaly Tryapitsyn as part of working trip to the capital of the Russian Federation.
The diplomats focused on the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. Vitaly Ignatiev noted the unsatisfactory state of dialogue between the parties that occurred as a result of a critical drop in the work dynamics at all its levels, alike Chisinau's refusal to fulfill its obligations. In this regard, the Minister noted the lack of progress in resolving the existing problematic aspects in the field of telecommunications, criminal cases and banking cooperation.
During the conversation, interlocutors expressed mutual opinion on the need to implement the previously reached agreements in the people’s interests and to intensify work within the negotiation process, including at the level of "Permanent Conference ...". In this context, Vitaly Ignatiev and Vitaly Tryapitsyn spoke for creating conditions to hold the next 5 + 2 format international negotiation meeting.
As a follow-up to the discussion, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects and initiatives in various fields within the framework of Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation development. Special attention was paid to some functioning aspects of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester.
Ending the meeting, interlocutors agreed to continue working communication across the entire spectrum of topical areas of interaction.
