The next stage of removal of ionizing radiation sources was held on March 25, 2016. The ionizing radiation sources (IRS) were removed from the territory of JSC “Moldavskaya GRES” (state power station) with a view to burring subsequently in a special facility in the Republic of Moldova. The procedure was organized with the participation of representatives of the Civil Protection Headquarters, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Republican Centre of Hygiene and Epidemiology, and other relevant bodies. Total amount of the removed sources was 1,052 units.
The Head of the PMR Foreign Ministry thinks that Pridnestrovie is at the front line, in the truest sense of the word.
Commander, U.S. European Command and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, U.S. Air Forces General Philip M. Breedlove is visiting Moldova between 23 and 24 March.
It is known that during the two-day visit Breedlove will meet with Moldovan President and Minister of Defence, will visit Bulboaka National Military Training Center which is being renovated with US support.
Today, on 23 March 2016 Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev participated in the session of the Pridnestrovian Supreme Council at the invitation of parliamentarians. During the plenary meeting the head of the Foreign Ministry gave a comprehensive explanation on topical issues of the current activities of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry.
President Yevgeny Shevchuk received acting foreign minister of the PMR. Vitaly Ignatiev reported to the head of state on the results of the official visit to the capital of the Russian Federation.
Press service of the PMR Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented to the Vzglyad newspaper reporter on another “plan” to join Moldova with Romania published in media. Here is the full text of the comment:
“It should be noted that this kind of projects appear not for the first time. However, as experts note, this rhetoric has seemed to be increasingly evident in recent months in the public information field of the RM against the background of the protracted internal political crisis in the neighbouring country.
“Of particular concern is the decision of Moldova and Ukraine to organize joint customs and border control on the border of Pridnestrovie,” said Vitaly Ignatiev.
Acting Foreign Minister of Pridnestrovie Vitaly Ignatiev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Moldova Matyash Siladi at the MFA of the PMR.
The sides discussed a number of topical issues of bilateral interaction between Pridnestrovie and Hungary in the social and humanitarian sphere, including the prospects for implementation of a number of joint cultural projects in the near future.
A meeting of Acting Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev with Special Envoy of Ukraine for the negotiation process, Ambassador-at-Large Valery Zhovtenko, who made his first visit to Pridnestrovie took place at the PMR's MFA. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova Ivan Gnatyshin.
At the initiative of the Pridnestrovian side a meeting of representatives on political issues from Pridnestrovie and Moldova Vitaly Ignatiev and Gheorghe Balan took place in the office of the OSCE Mission in Bendery today.
