President Yevgeny Shevchuk held a meeting with Acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Co-Chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Pridnestrovie Oleg Belyakov. Issues related to the current situation in the Security Zone were a central theme of the meeting.
The next stage of removal of ionizing radiation sources was held on March 25, 2016. The ionizing radiation sources (IRS) were removed from the territory of JSC “Moldavskaya GRES” (state power station) with a view to burring subsequently in a special facility in the Republic of Moldova. The procedure was organized with the participation of representatives of the Civil Protection Headquarters, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Republican Centre of Hygiene and Epidemiology, and other relevant bodies. Total amount of the removed sources was 1,052 units.
