The Foreign Ministry read the Moldovan Political Representative’s response to the inquiry about amendments to the criminal law pending in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. The new legislation may result in prosecution and violation of the rights of Pridnestrovian residents.
The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Head of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia to the PMR Vitaly Yankovsky.
The interlocutors discussed current issues of cooperation between the two countries and summed up the results of work in the past year. In addition, they exchanged views on plans for cooperation in the near future, including the prospects for implementing joint projects in social and humanitarian and other areas in 2023.

The main topic of discussion was the bill adopted by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in the first reading on the introduction of additional articles in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova, including providing for punishment for “separatism”.

Welcoming the guest, the Head of the Foreign Ministry noted that the interaction with the Abkhazian side is systematic. Vitaly Ignatiev reminded that in December Pridnestrovie and Apsny had signed Memorandum on Cooperation in Healthcare, Social Development and Social Protection.
PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev took part in the meeting of the Consultative Assembly of the first Pridnestrovian people’s deputies under the President of the Supreme Council of PMR. The main topic of discussion was Pridnestrovie’s international status and the negotiation process with Moldova.
Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev held a meeting with German Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Moldova Margret Uebber, who is on her first visit to Pridnestrovie after taking office.
The interlocutors continued the dialogue started during the meeting of the German diplomat with President Vadim Krasnoselsky and Chairman of the Government Alexander Rosenberg. The working discussion was basically focused on the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova.
Today at the Foreign Ministry, PMR Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandr Stetsiuk met with Marc Motyleski, Counselor for Political Affairs at the U.S. Embassy.
They discussed the current situation in the negotiation process, the bilateral relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, and expressed support for the dialogue in the 5+2 format.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR hosted a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandr Stetsiuk and Bea Ferenci, Human Rights Adviser to the UN Office in Moldova.
The meeting reviewed the 2022 cooperation results and discussed plans for further interaction. In particular, the sides noted their joint contribution to drafting the Human Rights Framework in Pridnestrovie and exchanged views on the prospects for implementing projects as part of the UN Peacebuilding Fund.
A group of employees of the PMR Foreign Ministry took a professional development course at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation. The training of Pridnestrovian diplomats in one of the leading Russian and world universities was carried out within the framework of a special program, financed by one of the Russian funds.
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Ministry of Social Security and Demographic Policy of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Ministry of Health of the PMR and the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor of the PMR held the signing ceremony of the Memorandum on Cooperation in Healthcare, Social Development and Social Protection was held in the online format. The event was attended by relevant ministers Kristina Albul, Elena Kulichenko, and Alexander Vataman, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the PMR.
On December 2 at the OSCE Mission office in Chisinau, political representatives from Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, Vitaly Ignatiev and Oleg Serebrian, met in the presence of representatives of mediators and observers in the negotiation process.
The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandr Stetsiuk with a delegation of the United Nations, headed by Peace and Development Adviser Kristin Jenssen.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current situation in the energy sector, as well as possible development scenarios and prevention of humanitarian crises in Pridnestrovie. At the same time, Alexandr Stetsiuk spoke in detail about the current state of affairs in the negotiation process and the difficulties that the republic has encountered this year, especially in the sector of imports.
On the evening of 23 November this year, the Moldovan side took discriminatory measures to limit the departure of the Political Representative of Pridnestrovie to the Russian Federation in transit through Chisinau airport.
With regard to the speculative claims by the office of the political representative of the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs points out the following.
Chisinau’s reaction is a futile attempt to justify its own clearly inadequate and extremely dangerous activities that threaten to turn into a deep crisis on a broad regional scale. However, the Pridnestrovian side is used to basing itself on truth and facts, against which the Moldovan version of events seems to be a trivial attempt to put the blame on others.
On November 15, 2022, a meeting of expert (working) groups on humanitarian aid from Pridnestrovie and Moldova took place. At the initiative of the Pridnestrovian side, the meeting was held in person at the OSCE Mission office in Tiraspol for the first time after a long pause.
On November 14, by mutual agreement of the parties, a telephone conversation was held between Vitaly Ignatiev, PMR Foreign Minister, and David Babayan, Foreign Minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
During the conversation, the sides assessed the developments taking place around Pridnestrovie and Artsakh. In addition, they discussed a wide range of topical issues in the context of bilateral cooperation. The diplomats set priorities and areas for further joint cooperation, including through the Foreign Ministries.
The International Council of Russian Compatriots (IRCC) is the only global association of Russian Compatriots, which includes more than 130 unions from 52 countries. On the occasion of its 20th anniversary a ceremonial event was held.
The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and the head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Republic of Moldova, Doris El Doueihy. The meeting was also attended by ICRC representatives Karina Lehmann and Azat Doskozhaev.
The OSCE Mission office in Tiraspol, in the presence of representatives of mediators and observers, held a meeting of expert (working) groups on economic issues with the participation of political representatives Vitaly point of responsibility Ignatiev and Oleg Serebrian.
Today, a regular meeting of expert (working) groups from Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova on regulatory and document support of citizens took place via videoconference.
During the meeting, the experts addressed issues related to the resumption of interaction between the civil registry authorities and archival services with a view to resolving the numerous problems the citizens face in the processing of documents.
