On February 13, 2012, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski held a working meeting with the delegation of the UNICEF Country Office in the Republic of Moldova headed by Alexandra Yuster.
On January 24, 2012, Joint Control Commission was informed, that on January 23, on the territory, including the Security Zone and major part of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic, inspection group from Canada, accompanied by military personnel from National Army of the Republic of Moldova, started the inspection of military units and military objects.
In furtherance of agreements reached in Odessa by President of the PMR Evgeny Shevchuk and Prime-Minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat, on January 31 and February 2, 2012, meetings of experts of Pridnestrovie and Moldova took place.
Therefore it is correct, that our diplomacy did not discuss the topic of peacekeeping format on the Dniester before the elections in 2011 and does not do it now. Moldavian Prime-Minister Vlad Filat also acted without mistake, when he did not focus on this issue on the meeting in Odessa. In the end, how the activity of peacekeeping forces (by the way, not only Russian, but Pridnestrovien and Moldavian) can prevent from resumption of direct telephone communication or full-scale railway service through the PMR?
Today Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR hosted the meeting of Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Moldova Dagmar Repcekova.
A frosty Odessa prepared participants of the negations for a calm, businesslike, and sober approach to the accumulated problems. Professional correctness and pragmatism of the Ukrainian Minister created perfect conditions for efficient negotiations.
The very recognition by Prime-Minister of Moldova of the fact that transformation of the current format of the peacekeeping forces should not be discussed at this point can already be interpreted as a step, or rather a gesture that sounds anew in the policy of a contemporary Moldova.
Problem of resumption of railway communication through the territory of Pridnestrovie was discussed during the meeting of the PMR’s President Evgeny Shevchuk and the head of government of Moldova Vladimir Filat on January 27, 2012, in Odessa.
