The office of President of Pridnestrovie hosted a meeting between President Vadim Krasnoselsky and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov. This is the first contact in 2023. The previous conversation was held in December last year. Despite the short period between the two meetings, the agenda has been enriched with new issues that require joint work on their solution, said Vadim Krasnoselsky, welcoming the guest.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that it has sent an appeal to the 5+2 participants regarding the alarming state of the import of medicines to the PMR and the refusal by the Moldovan side to implement compromise solutions in this area.
It is important to note that throughout 2022, the Pridnestrovian side has repeatedly raised the issue of the need to ensure an uninterrupted supply of pharmaceutical products to the PMR for the population and medical institutions of the republic in the framework of international dialogue.

During the communication the diplomats exchanged greetings on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the first Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Abkhazia.
An event to mark the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation between the PMR and Abkhazia was held at the Official Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia to the PMR. The document became a basic bilateral agreement that laid the foundation for Pridnestrovian-Abkhazian relations. The two states were able to officially establish cooperation in the diplomatic, economic, cultural, humanitarian and military-political areas, as well as to exchange experience in state-building.
The OSCE Mission Office held consultations specifically on the current condition and performance of the bridge over the Dniester River in Dubossary.
This bridge, built in the 1960s and reconstructed in 1997, has been in operation for 25 years without any repair works. In 2018, the sides jointly inspected the bridge and analyzed the prospects for carrying out reconstructions. During today’s meeting, the sides returned to discussing the current technical condition of the bridge and possible conditions and parameters for its repair.
The Foreign Ministry read the Moldovan Political Representative’s response to the inquiry about amendments to the criminal law pending in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. The new legislation may result in prosecution and violation of the rights of Pridnestrovian residents.
The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Head of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia to the PMR Vitaly Yankovsky.
The interlocutors discussed current issues of cooperation between the two countries and summed up the results of work in the past year. In addition, they exchanged views on plans for cooperation in the near future, including the prospects for implementing joint projects in social and humanitarian and other areas in 2023.

The main topic of discussion was the bill adopted by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in the first reading on the introduction of additional articles in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova, including providing for punishment for “separatism”.
