April 28, 2014 marked the 20th anniversary since the signing of the Statement by the leaders of Moldova and Pridnestrovie which launched “urgent” process of negotiations between the parties “on the whole range of issues of mutual interest”.
In the second part of the Round table on the 20th anniversary of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova: history and prospects, held today in the T.G. Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University, an exchange of opinions took place relating to the content and current situation of the negotiation process.
Today, the Foreign Ministry of the PMR hosted a meeting between Deputy Chairperson of the Government for International Cooperation of the PMR, Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski and the European Union delegation headed by Chief Negotiator for DCFTA from the European Commission, Head of Unit \"Trade aspects of European neighbourhood policy and trade relations with countries of the CIS and Balkans\" Luc Devigne, Head of Political and Economic Section of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova Wicher Slagter, and Assistant of the Directorate General for Trade of the European Commission Joan Miksha. Taking part in the meeting was Vitaly Ignatiev, Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR.
A round table discussion “The 20th anniversary of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova: history and prospects” was held in the T.G. Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University today. Taking part were Deputy Chairperson of the PMR’s Government for International Cooperation, Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski, Deputy Foreign Ministers Vitaly Ignatiev and Igor Shornikov, Deputy Director of the Dniester-Prut Centre of the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies, Head of the research and studies programmes Vasiliy Kashirin, Co-Chairperson of the Joint Control Commission from the Russian Federation Vasiliy Korchmar, representatives of government bodies of the republic, members of the Public Expert Council under the PMR’s MFA, heads of expert groups in the negotiation process, academic staff of the T.G. Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University.
Today, Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski answered the questions of the Moldovan TV 7 Channel’s journalists.
Deputy Chairperson of the Government for International Cooperation of the PMR Nina Shtanski held a meeting in the PMR’s MFA with Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre Adam Kobieracki.
On April 24, the OSCE Office hosted a regular meeting of the Pridnestrovian and Moldovan experts on telecommunications and postal service, the second one this year.
The OSCE Office in Tiraspol hosted a regular meeting between the representatives on political issues of Pridnestrovie and Moldova Nina Shtanski and Yevgeny Karpov.
