Today, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR head of the Foreign Ministry Vitaly Ignatiev received a delegation of the British Embassy in the Republic of Moldova headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Her Majesty of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Philip David Batson.
In connection with numerous appeals of the citizens coming in written and electronic forms and evidencing the renewal of administrative pressure by authorities of the Republic of Moldova on residents of Pridnestrovie, crossing the RM’s state border, including in Kishinev airport, the Press Service of the Foreign Ministry of the PMR reports the following.
Today Acting Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev sent to Head of the Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia Vyacheslav Chirikba congratulations on the 23th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Abkhazia.
President Yevgeny Shevchuk received Acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Director of the state unitary enterprise “Pridnestrovian Railway” Oleg Kulbikov. The meeting focused on issues related to the change in the scheme of movement of goods imported to Pridnestrovie by railway.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR draws the attention of the residents of Pridnestrovie to the possible aggravation of the political situation in the neighbouring Republic of Moldova, as well as to the expected increase in protest activity in Kishinev.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR recommends the citizens of Pridnestrovie in order to avoid possible incidents to refrain from traveling to the Republic of Moldova, as well as to participate in any public events related to the socio-political processes in Moldova.
President signed a Decree appointing Vitaly Ignatiev Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Pursuant to the signed document Vitaly Ignatiev is also entrusted with functions of Special Representative of the President for the negotiation process, interaction with diplomatic missions and international organizations.
A working meeting between Acting Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev and Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan was held in the Foreign Ministry of the PMR.
