As it is known, on June 21, 2011, Moscow will host the next round of informal consultations of the participants of the Permanent Consultations on Political Issues in the Framework of the Pridnestrovien Settlement Negotiation Process, more known as a 5+2 format, where the “five” is the founders of the Permanent Consultations… (the conflicting sides, guarantors and co-mediators), and “plus two” – observers from the European Union and the USA.
In Pridnestrovie attention was drawn to the behaviour of a number of officials of the Republic of Moldova after the reception which was held in the Russian Embassy in the RM on June 10, 2011, and also to their subsequent statements in mass media.

In the light of high importance for the Moldova-Pridnestrovie settlement of the Summit of the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe held on 1-2 December, in Astana, the refusal of Moldovan acting President Mihai Ghimpu from participating in the given international forum is indicative of Chisinau’s extremely irresponsible approach to the question of political normalization of relations.
On October 14, 2010, the Russia’s Nezavisimaya gazeta (Independent Newspaper) saw the publication of the article of Ms. Gamova titled Moscow prepares honorary surrender of Transdniestria dedicated to specific aspects of the cooperation between the Russian Federation and the European Union in the context of Moldova-Pridnestrovie settlement.
Media released the statement made by the head of the EUBAM Mission Udo Burkholder which says that reopening of the passenger train Chisinau-Odessa via Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic is “the EU Mission’s success in rendering assistance at the border between Moldova and Ukraine.”
The Transdniestrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the decision of the International Court of Justice of 22 June 2010 which reads, “International legislation contains no prohibition as to declaring independence, and thus, Kosovo’s declaration of independence doesn’t contradict international law.”
On December 17, 2009, Deputy Prime Minister of the RM Victor Osipov put forward an initiative to suspend temporarily the entry ban for Pridnestrovian officials to the EU countries.
Today, on November 13, 2007, a meeting between representatives of the sides, mediators, and observers within the Permanent Conference on Political Issues in the Framework of the “5+2” Moldova-Pridnestrovie Settlement Negotiation Process should have taken place in Madrid. This forum had been disrupted unilaterally by Moldova on February 28, 2006.
