Today Kishinev hosted a meeting of representatives on political issues of Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova Nina Shtanski and Viktor Osipov.
Opening the meeting, Nina Shtanski expressed satisfaction that the parties managed to deactivate the “pause” mode in “1 + 1” interaction and return to work in that format. “The Pridnestrovian side is ready to interact actively. Without having high expectations, we are focused on substantive work. In the difficult situation which we and the negotiation process face as a whole, to move in small steps and achieve little results is a great success,” – said the head of the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie.
“The main thing now, - said Nina Shtanski, – is to restore “bridges”, namely the work of expert groups, and “repair” our relationship, which requires the goodwill of both parties”.
During the meeting agreement was reached on holding the kick-off meeting of representatives on political issues with the heads of all the expert (working) groups on March 20 this year in Kishinev. On the same day it is planned to organize a discussion within the expert (working) groups on economic issues, also with the participation of political representatives.
In addition, in the near future it is planned to organize meetings of expert (working) groups on education, as well as the development of transport and road infrastructure.
Nina Shtanski and Viktor Osipov discussed substantive, organizational and technical aspects of the preparation of the meeting between the heads of Pridnestrovie and Moldova. Following discussions the political representatives reported to the media that the meeting was scheduled to be held very soon. The media will be further informed about the time and place of the meeting.
