11/06/19

On November 4-5, 2019, Bavaria hosted unofficial CBM Conference between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Moldova under support of the German Foreign Ministry.

The participants discussed the priority issues within three thematic sessions of the conference: Economics, Trade and Banking, Education and Freedom of Movement.

The economic panel paid attention to the highly relevant banking issue. Supported by several international experts, the Pridnestrovian representatives emphasized the necessity for early removal of any obstacles preventing Pridnestrovian entities from opening accounts in the Moldovan banks, as well as for conversion of Moldovan lei to ensure a full banking system interaction.

The Pridnestrovian delegation informed in details the participants about problems related to imports of various goods to Pridnestrovie resulted from the so-called joint control arranged by Moldova and Ukraine. A special focus was expanded on the railway oil-products delivery via the Slobodka-Kolbasna border checkpoint. Following the Pridnestrovian initiative, the sides reaffirmed the need for a prompt obligations fulfillment by the Moldovan side in the field of communication to provide a direct mobile connection between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

The Education session discussed issues related to implementation of education right for Pridnestrovians in the context of diploma apostillization agreement. Particularly, the representatives of Ukraine and Germany consulted on problems that face Pridnestrovian graduates when continuing education in the above countries. Regarding school education access, the sides agreed to monitor together the situation on ensuring the right to get education in Russian language in the Moldovan regions bordering Pridnestrovie. Relating to Latin-script schools, the sides agreed on early exchange of reports on results of joint inspections held in last August.
