The PMR’s Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Dmitry Palamarchuk with the delegation of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland led by Director of the Causeway Institute Kingsley Donaldson.
During the meeting participants discussed in detail the British side’s initiative to organize through the Causeway Institute special education project for young diplomats and civil servants of Pridnestrovie, aiming at studying the experience of conflict and post-conflict settlement in Northern Ireland. For the first time this initiative was announced by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain in the Republic of Moldova Philip David Batson during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the PMR for International Cooperation and Minister for Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski on August 26, 2015.
Dmitry Palamarchuk noted in this connection that the British side’s aspiration to maintain direct contacts is regarded in Pridnestrovie as a very positive factor. He also stressed that the British diplomacy has always been an important member of the international communication, and, in addition, has an “undoubted experience in conflict resolution.”
The sides agreed to continue working contacts within the planned project and on other areas of mutual interest.
