On April 26, 2012 Deputy Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev met with representatives of delegation of the Republic of Belarus. Belarusian delegation included Deputy Head of Minsk City Council Vladimir Koltovich and Head of Department of Foreign Trade Office Denis Yeremenko. Pridnestrovian side on the meeting was presented by Head of the City Administration of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk Andrei Bezbabchenko, Head of Department for Trade, Transport and Communications Eduard Gutsol and Representative of the President in the Republic Belarus Vladimir Artemenko.
Visit of Belarusian delegation in Pridnestrovie was held as part of promotion of existing friendly ties between Sister Cities Minsk and Tiraspol. Issues of commercial, economic and bank cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
As Vladimir Koltovich informed after the meeting, Belarus is interested in further development of the existing trade and economic, and cultural ties. He stressed that official Minsk is ready to consume practically all specter of agricultural goods produced in Pridnestrovie.
Commenting on the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev noted that relations with Belarusian State have priority for Pridnestrovie. He also reminded about the existing agreement on cooperation between Tiraspol and Minsk cities which was signed in 2002. It also should be developed and should be filled with content, – Pridnestrovian diplomat noticed.
Speaking on the economic cooperation with the Republic of Belarus, Vitaly Ignatiev said that perspectives of investments projects for Pridnestrovie were also discussed during the meeting. For these purposes intergovernmental commissions of certain types should be formed.
Diplomat also informed that interlocutors discussed the resumption of full-scale railway communication through Pridnestrovie. Our Belarusian colleagues apprehended this event with optimism. It is the factor which increased investment and economic attractiveness of Pridnestrovie, – Deputy Head of the PMR's MFA noticed.
