Nina Shtanski met with Matyás Szilágyi

The meeting between the Foreign Minister of the PMR and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Moldova Matyás Szilágyi took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR.

The sides discussed cooperation in the field of culture. Nina Shtanski expressed gratitude to the Hungarian diplomat for assistance in the development of cultural cooperation with Pridnestrovie, and also reported that Pridnestrovie expects to hold a new exhibition of Hungarian artists.

Furthermore, the sides paid attention to the socio-economic situation in the country. The minister voiced a number of positions set out in the President’s Address related to the causes of extremely difficult economic situation of the state. “Unfortunately, the socio-economic situation in Pridnestrovie is compounded, the difficulties acquire new dimension, which is associated with the turbulence that takes place around the republic. In these circumstances, we make a lot of efforts and in the dialogue with foreign partners we look for ways to improve the situation in the economy”

During the meeting, the diplomats exchanged views on the current state of the negotiation track between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, as well as aspects of bilateral cooperation of mutual interest.
