Today, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian MFA Sergey Gubarev and Minister Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Moldova Vitaly Tryapitsyn paid a working visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR.
The meeting was focused on issues connected with the work of expert groups in the run-up of the OSCE High Level Conference on Developing Confidence Building Measures in the Moldova-Pridnestrovie Conflict Settlement Process to take place in Germany on June 20-23. In the framework of the forthcoming Conference expert groups will sum up results, consider current issues and draw out guidelines for corresponding areas of each group.
Nina Shtanski noted that regardless practical results achieved due to efficient work of expert groups, there remain issues which the sides failed to agree upon so far. “Thanks to the fact that expert groups are part of the negotiation mechanism, we hope that with the support of all participants we will manage in the nearest time to gain more successful shifts which will alleviate life of people living on the left and right bank of the Dniester,” Nina Shtanski told.
Also, the sides considered current issues relating to the preparation for a regular round of the Permanent Conference meeting in the 5+2 format scheduled for mid-July.
Sergey Gubarev noted that at the given stage it is very important to indicate results which can be reached both in Germany and Vienna. In his words, outcome of these meetings should be transformed into concrete practical deeds. “People should feel that their life is really improving and problems are being resolved,” Sergey Gubarev concluded.
Moreover, Head of the foreign office of the PMR Nina Shtanski informed Russian delegation about the instruction of the President of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk given to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR to elaborate a new version of the Foreign Policy Concept of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic taking into account aspirations of Pridnestrovie towards Eurasian integration.
Let us recall that on June 6, 2012, Head of the State instructed Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR to prepare a new version of the Foreign Policy Concept of the PMR and designated Eurasian integration as a national idea of Pridnestrovie. “This course should become key leitmotiv of foreign policy of our state,” the President stressed.
