Vitaly Ignatiev met with Sergey Gubarev in Moscow

In the framework of his visit to the capital of the Russian Federation, the PMR Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vitaly Ignatiev, met with the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Gubarev. Ambassador-at-Large in the rank of Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Ruslan Slobodenyuk, Deputy Director of the Second Department of CIS countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry Vitaly Tryapitsyn and Assistant of Sergey Gubarev, First Secretary Arif Hajiev also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova with an emphasis on the prospects for the development of dialogue in 2019.

The interlocutors outlined their vision of the priority areas of work at the negotiating table, and also expressed the hope that the stable dynamics of cooperation would be maintained within the framework of the Slovakia’s OSCE Chairmanship. In particular, the diplomats spoke in favor of the rhythmic work of the “Permanent Conference...” in the 5+2 format, and also stressed the priority of implementation of the agreements reached earlier.

The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the development of bilateral cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation. The parties discussed current initiatives and prospects for joint work in 2019. During the discussion, the interlocutors also exchanged views on areas of cooperation, which may be developed through the assistance of the Official Representation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in Moscow.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors confirmed the continued openness to direct contacts on all issues of mutual interest.
