Today on the initiative of the Pridnestrovian side, a meeting of specialized economic specialists was held at the office of the OSCE Mission in the city of Tiraspol.
A wide range of issues that concerned both sides with an emphasis on the interests of economic agents and the population was discussed during the meeting. In particular, the sides paid special attention to the problems of importing various categories of goods to Pridnestrovie and the inadmissibility of the negative impact on foreign trade activities of the PMR of the joint customs and border control at the Ukrainian-Pridnestrovian state border.
Aspects related to the export-import and production activities of specific enterprises and relevant actions to optimize the conditions of their operation were also raised. The Pridnestrovian side requested the continuation of an environmental project to remove used batteries to the Republic of Moldova, and also initiated the settlement of issues related to the export of iron and non-ferrous scrap in general.
The parties agreed to make efforts for the early agreement on a protocol decision on cooperation in the field of technical barriers removal, accreditation, standardization and metrology.
