Today, during the working visit to the capital of the Russian Federation, the PMR’s Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev met with Ambassador at Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Gubarev. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Director of the Second CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Vitaly Tryapitsyn.
During the conversation the sides discussed the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. In particular, the interlocutors expressed an opinion on inadmissibility of long pauses in the work at various levels of the negotiation process, including meetings of expert (working) groups and political representatives. The Head of the PMR’s MFA noted that in fact the Moldovan side has been refusing from the meeting at the level of “Permanent Conference...” in the 5+2 format for more than five months, despite the fact that Pridnestrovie has initiated its organisation for three times. In this context, Vitaly Ignatiev emphasized that the Moldovan side continues to demonstrate lack of readiness for a substantive dialogue with Pridnestrovie that significantly impedes resolution of a whole set of significant problems.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on various aspects of bilateral cooperation of Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation. In particular, representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry appreciated participation of the delegation of independent observers from Pridnestrovie in the 14th meeting of the Russian-Moldovan intergovernmental commission.
