A large delegation of Ambassadors and members of diplomatic missions accredited in Kishinev has arrived in Tiraspol at the invitation of the Pridnestrovian side. It consists of diplomats from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia.
As expected, the highlight in the visit program will be familiarity with the current investment climate of Pridnestrovie in the context of the ongoing reform of the country’s investment legislation, as well as other measures taken by the PMR leadership to attract capital to the economy of the Republic.
In Pridnestrovie, foreign diplomats visited a presentation of culture and languages of European countries organized at Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University, in the framework of cultural and humanitarian relations between Pridnestrovie and Europe. At the opening, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev, delivered a welcoming speech.
“I consider it symbolic that today we receive a delegation of many states that are presenting their educational programs in our leading university. This is doubly pleasant, as we are fighting for the rights of Pridnestrovians, including graduate students of our universities, in the negotiation process,” the PMR Foreign Minister said, recalling the signed agreement on apostillization of diplomas that “created additional opportunities for Pridnestrovian graduates to continue studying around the world”.
The Minister noted that currently many cultural and educational centers operate at Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University, and also expressed hope that “after today’s event, there will be even more”. “I would like to take this opportunity to open today a kind of Friendship Day within our university that will show openness, multiculturalism and high level of education in Pridnestrovie”, concluded Vitaly Ignatiev.
The Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Peter Michalko also addressed to the students of the Pridnestrovian university with the words of greetings. He noted that visitors of the presentation “have an opportunity to learn more about the European Union”, pointing out that this year the EU celebrates the year of the European cultural heritage. “Together with the EU Member States, I am grateful to all the Ambassadors who are here today with me. We have one main goal – to improve people’s lives,” the diplomat said.
On behalf of the SPSU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Elena Bomeshko welcomed the guests. “The ten thousand people team of the multinational multicultural university, the leading educational institution of Pridnestrovie invites all guests to see themselves that there is much to learn and talk about in our university, in our Republic. We are expecting that both you and we will receive new common impressions,” she said.
Within the framework of the event the Ambassadors of European countries, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, got acquainted with the stands with presentation products of the countries of Europe. The diplomats also visited cultural centers at Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University, including the Center for Russian Language and Russian Culture, as well as centers of French and Bulgarian culture.
During the visit, the delegation of Ambassadors will also visit a number of Pridnestrovian enterprises located in Tiraspol, which have many years experience of successful work in the markets of European countries.
