The Exhibition of Pridnestrovian Artists “Okno” (The Window) Has Been Opened in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR

Opening of the exhibition “Okno” of Pridnestrovian artists, couple of Vladimir and Tatiana Shuma took place today within the walls of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR. Nina Shtanski, Deputy Head of Government of the PMR on Issues of International Cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Nadezhda Baranova, Chief of the Presidential Office of the PMR, Svetlana Fadeeva, Minister of Public Education of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Vyacheslav Dolgodvorov, Deputy Minister of Public Education for Culture and Art, and representatives of creative community took part in the event.



Addressing the audience Nina Shtanski mentioned that Pridnestrovian artists carry out distinctive mission. Waking through their works the brightest emotions of the people at the same time they are giving new perspective of Pridnestrovie for the viewers. Rave of colour and plenty of sunlight filling many pictures of Pridnestrovian artists imply force of joy, kindness and optimism, prepossess to perception of lofty and beautiful. “You are true ambassadors of people and your work is often more effective than the efforts of professional diplomats. Your works compose the “soft power” that wins all hearts and allow them to have a fresh sight of many things and events” - Nina Shtanski said.



Tatiana Shuma explained that the name of the exhibition “Okno” (The Window) for the presentation within the walls of the foreign office was not chosen occasionally. “This exhibition is our good message to all people who come to our Republic. We hope that our painting will become “the window” to the beautiful soul of Pridnestrovie for foreign visitors who will attend the Ministry within their working visits” – she noted. The artist told that for number of occasions their couple met definite stereotypes in the thinking of people concerning different countries. “While talking about Russia they imagine bears, while talking about Pridnestrovie they imagine riding tanks, Tatiana Shuma says, but having seen our cheerful paintings people comprehend that Pridnestrovie is an amicable favoured place inhabited by affable and talented people.”



The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR renders active support to Pridnestrovian artists for many years and contributes to promotion of their works abroad. This activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be continued as it was mentioned during the varnishing. Pridnestrovian diplomacy intents to expand attraction of the potential of fine art for strengthening the positive image of the republic.
