Pridnestrovian State University named after T.G. Shevchenko held the opening of Contact Centre on coordination with Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation.
The event was attended by Aleksey Tsurkan, Deputy Chairman of the Government, Minister of Healthcare of the PMR, Tatyana Loginova, Minister of Education of the PMR, Vitaly Bondar, Assistant to President of the PMR, Stepan Beril, Rector of the Pridnestrovian State University named after T.G. Shevchenko. Russian Side was represented by Mikhail Davydov, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in Moldova, Vladimir Malyshev, Counselor of the Russian Embassy to Moldova.
During the event, Vitaly Ignatiev stressed that the opening of the Contact Center, symbolically timed to the Day of Russia, was the result of the joint work of Pridnestrovie and Russia, that had been going on for a long time. The Minister expressed confidence that the functioning of the Center will enable to activate and to bring cooperation on a new level with the Russian Federation.
“There is a broad range of educational, humanitarian and science issues we want to solve. That is why we supposed that the Contact Centre should be not only nameplate but a complete mechanism for practical work with young people, students and for those who associates themselves with Russia, who studies and works within the Russian cultural, scientific and educational space”, stated Minister. According to the diplomat, the Center’s work plan is currently being worked out and it already includes practical proposals from both Pridnestrovie and Russia.
In his turn Mikhail Davydov stressed out that the opening of the Contact Centre launched the new phase in the cooperation between Rossotrudnichestvo and Pridnestrovie.
“It was a long way to open the Contact Centre. Rossotrudnichestvo has been working in Pridnestrovie for over ten years. We implement here humanitarian projects and programs. I believe that with the opening of the Centre those programs that did not receive adequate coverage will be open to the Pridnestrovians”, he stressed.
Aleksey Tsurkan on behalf of the Government of the PMR expressed the gratitude to all participants of the preparation of the Centre and expressed appreciation for the openness of this field to students and young people. “The Russian Federation is a guide, a guarantor and a peacemaker for us. We are connected spiritually and historically, we have a common past and a common future. The opening of the Contact Center is a real step towards strengthening our ties and diverse cooperation”, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
During the opening ceremony welcoming words were also made by Vladimir Malyshev, the Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Tatyana Loginova, Minister of Education of the PMR and Stepan Beril, Rector of the Pridnestrovian State University named after T.G. Shevchenko. In continuation of the event, Mikhail Davydov, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in Moldova introduced to the guests the infrastructure of the Center.
