Children's Football Tournament Euro-2012 took place in Kishinev from 5-13 May with participation of Pridnestrovian teams. Event was organized by the embassies of Poland and Ukraine in Moldova and by the Don Bosco Children Center. Heads of diplomatic representations of Poland, Ukraine, Italy, Sweden, Romania and of the EU took place in the closing ceremony yesterday in Kishinev. Pridnestrovie was presented by the Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Nikiforova, Deputy Minister of Education Viktor Kitsul and Deputy Head of Department for Protocol Support Elena Benkovskaya.
Competitions were organized among children from 7-11 y.o. to 12-14 y.o. One of the distinctive features of the tournament is that children don't play professional football and are not members of football clubs and schools. Pridnestrovian teams performed in both age groups and got two prize-winning places. Younger team won the Cup and thus the first prize in the tournament, while elder team won a special prize as the most disciplined team.
