The President is in the Russian capital on a working visit. Yevgeny Shevchuk met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin in Moscow.
During the meeting they discussed issues related with the increasing risks to the economy of Pridnestrovie under regional economic instability and other artificial factors blocking Pridnestrovian economic potential.
The meeting stressed that “actions aimed at creating conditions for the expansion of poverty, are contrary to the purposes of constructive finding solutions which are amicable to the parties to the conflict in the framework of negotiations, and steps taken to further pressure on the economy of Pridnestrovie both on the part of Ukraine and Moldova expand the risks of destabilization that is contrary to the objectives of preserving stability”.
During the exchange of views, Dmitry Rogozin said that for the formation of the necessary negotiation platform all parties interested in stability need to move away from the bellicose rhetoric, unfriendly unilateral actions, to stop forming artificial barriers. “The sooner there is the turn to constructive solutions, the more positive results will be felt by the people of both banks of the Dniester”, the meeting noted.
The meeting also discussed the state of social infrastructure in the current economic conditions, as well as the problems of Russian citizens residing in Pridnestrovie, and compatriots. In addition, the sides touched upon the issues of implementation in the PMR a number of Russian humanitarian projects.
