On November 5-7, Kishinev and Tiraspol will be hosting consultations of representatives of mediators, guarantors and observers in the Pridnestrovian settlement negotiation process from the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the OSCE, the USA and the European Union. On November 6, the 5+2 participants will hold a number of meetings in Kishinev, and on November 7 their visit to Pridnestrovie is planned. The delegation is expected to arrive composed also of Special Representative of OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the Pridnestrovian settlement, Ambassador Erwan Fouere, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian MFA Sergey Gubarev, Ukraine's Special Representative for Pridnestrovian settlement Igor Kharchenko, Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Dirk Shuebel, and Ambassador of the United States to Moldova William Moser.
Meetings with President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Yevgeny Shevchuk, Foreign Minister of the PMR Nina Shtanski and heads of expert (working) groups on economy, education, law-enforcement, transport, healthcare and telecommunications are planned as part of their visit. Following the results of consultations with experts, doorstep interview of Erwan Fouere to representatives of Pridnestrovian mass media and those accredited in the Republic is expected to take place at the Tiraspol office of the OSCE Mission to Moldova.
During the meeting with heads of expert (working) groups practical results of their activity are expected to be reviewed. Earlier on, mediators and observers marked tangible intensification of expert work. Thus, from March till October 2012, specialists conducted three times more meetings than over entire 2011. At the same time, political representatives of the sides marked low efficiency of these meetings.
The visit of representatives of mediators, guarantors and observers in the negotiation process is a preparatory one before the meeting of the Permanent Conference on Political Issues in the Framework of the Pridnestrovian Settlement Negotiation Process to take place in Dublin, on November 27-30, 2012, following the results of Irish OSCE Chairmanship.
