On the Meeting of PMR’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Yastrebchak and Vice-president, Presidential Candidate of the Republic of Abkhazia Alexander Ankvab

As reported by preelection headquarters of presidential candidate of the Republic of Abkhazia, Alexander Ankvab met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic Vladimir Yastrebchak, who was visiting Abkhazia.

A. Ankvab and V. Yastrebchak discussed the status of intergovernmental relations of Abkhazia and Pridnestrovie.

Alexander Ankvab marked high extent of mutual relations between our countries. He expressed special gratitude for the support in days of sorrow on decease of the President Sergey Bagapsh. “We remember the words of PMR's President Igor Nikolayevich Smirnov on mourning meeting at the day of Sergey Vasilievich funeral. A feeling of warmth and brotherly sense ran through them,” said Alexander Ankvab. Presidential candidate acquainted his guest with the course of election campaign, expressing his certainty with the fact that the elections would be held in strict correspondence with the legislation and democratic norms.

Vladimir Yastrebchak in his turn informed, that official Tiraspol is forming a delegation, which members will participate in presidential elections as international observers at the invitation of Abkhazian authorities. PMR's Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized, that presidential elections soon would be held also in his country. The Head of PMR's foreign office invited the representatives of Abkhazia to the celebration of Republic's Day, which is observed on September 2.
