On February 25, 2014 the OSCE Office in Tiraspol hosted a regular meeting of expert (working) groups on education. During the meeting, experts discussed issues on the functioning of Romanian-language schools in Pridnestrovie, as well as drafting of the appropriate form of legalization of education documents issued by Pridnestrovian educational institutions.
For issues relating to the functioning of Romanian-language schools the parties agreed to fix dates in the very near future of joint inspections in educational institutions scheduled to be held during the first half of March 2014.
In addition, the Moldovan party assured the Pridnestrovian representatives of the readiness of administration of Romanian-language schools to proceed as soon as possible to the conclusion of lease contracts offered by the Pridnestrovian side which will be paid from the budget of the Republic of Moldova.
Regarding legalization of education documents issued by Pridnestrovie, the Moldovan side informed that some aspects of the issue are beyond competence of the Moldovan working group on education, therefore Kishinev offered to hold further consultations and elaboration of the issue within other formats and relevant expert (working) groups.
