On April 24, 2025, a regular meeting of experts from Pridnestrovie and Moldova on educational issues was held via videoconference. The meeting was nearly disrupted due to a deliberate provocation by the Moldovan side, which attempted to involve a representative of a biased “non-governmental” organization from the Republic of Moldova in the session of the expert (working) groups – an official auxiliary mechanism within the settlement process.
Promo-LEX is known for its openly anti-Pridnestrovian activities, including efforts to disrupt the negotiation process. It is well known that members of this NGO were directly involved in organizing the criminal prosecution of officials from Pridnestrovie.
As a result of the persistent demands from the Pridnestrovian delegation to comply with the provisions of the regulations on the activities of the expert (working) groups, outsider was excluded from the videoconference, and the meeting was opened.
During the discussion, the Pridnestrovian side drew attention to the discriminatory practices applied by Moldovan educational structures towards graduates of general education institutions, who face additional requirements for admission to Moldovan universities, in particular, the need to retake graduation exams.
In the context of schools with Romanian as the language of instruction operating in Pridnestrovie, experts from Moldova were informed about the provisions of the current legislation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic regarding general universal military service and military registration, which apply to all citizens of the PMR without exception.
Due to the uncoordinated and unilateral actions of representatives from Moldova in organizing the meeting, experts were unable to discuss the full range of issues included in the general agenda of the meeting.
