Vitaly Ignatiev Meets Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia

01/20/25

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a meeting between PMR Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Moldova Oleg Ozerov during his working visit to Pridnestrovie, as part of an extensive program.
During the dialogue, the diplomats aligned their positions on the main issues of the negotiation process and the current situation in Pridnestrovie, with an emphasis on exchanging opinions and assessments on ways to address the fuel and energy crisis.
Vitaly Ignatiev expressed the view that Moldova’s actual obstruction of humanitarian supplies of natural gas to Pridnestrovie contradicts the declarations of the Moldovan leadership and has a negative impact on the population and the prospects for the republic’s industry. According to him, Chisinau’s current approach is a tool of pressure and provocation of a humanitarian disaster in Pridnestrovie, running contrary to the recommendations of international mediators.
The head of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry informed the Ambassador of the intention to notify all participants of the 5+2 format about Moldova’s unacceptable actions in blocking gas supplies to Pridnestrovie.
At the end of the meeting, the diplomats agreed to maintain regular contacts on the full range of current issues concerning the negotiation process and bilateral relations.
