Address of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic to the President of the Republic of Moldova

01/20/25

Lacking the opportunity to address the leader of the neighboring state in person at an official meeting, I will make use of this messenger platform.
Dear Ms. Sandu,
During the briefing held on January 14, you, as the current President of the Republic of Moldova, publicly stated that there are no obstacles to the Russian gas supplies. Specifically, you said: “Chisinau does not obstruct the supply of Russian gas,” “We keep the pipeline open and are ready for supplies. Chisinau does not hinder gas transit to the left bank,” and “We will allow the supply of gas from Russia to Pridnestrovie. We want this crisis to end as soon as possible.”
However, with a practical solution to the problem and a legitimate supplier now in place – a Moldovan company licensed to transport and supply gas – we are observing intense opposition from officials of the Republic of Moldova. Their actions seem aimed at blocking the delivery of this essential energy resource. The goal is to further exacerbate the existing crisis.
Ms. Sandu, I am addressing you as a responsible leader and the President of the Republic of Moldova. I urge you to do everything in your power. Honor your promise and let the natural gas flow to Pridnestrovie.
