During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of affairs in Pridnestrovie, as well as the external situation. Special attention was paid to the current activities of the OHCHR and its medium-term plans.
Pridnestrovian representatives drew the visitors’ attention to the destructive approaches of the Moldovan side: double taxation of the PMR economic operators, ban on export of products of the national industrial enterprises, blocking import of medicines and medical equipment, deportation of Pridnestrovians. The Pridnestrovian side emphasized that the actions undertaken by the Republic of Moldova violate the universal human rights and require an appropriate response from international organizations.
OHCHR representatives, in turn, proposed further implementation of initiatives previously launched in Pridnestrovie. In particular, in cooperation with the PMR public authorities, it is planned to further develop the Human Rights Framework, as well as to implement comprehensive initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable populations.
