Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry hosted the working meeting between Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Vataman.
Opening the meeting, the PMR Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pridnestrovie’s focus on further strengthening and expanding multifaceted ties with the friendly people of Abkhazia. In addition, he expressed words of sympathy and support in connection with the tragedy of national significance, a fire in the building of the Central Exhibition Hall of the Artists’ Union of Abkhazia, in which almost the entire fund of the National Gallery burned down.
In turn, Alexander Vataman noted that the current meeting is taking place on the anniversary of the signing of the first Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Abkhazia, which marked the beginning of bilateral relations. On behalf of the Abkhaz side, he extended the words of gratitude for the participation of the PMR representatives in festive events dedicated to the celebration of milestone jubilee dates for the Republic of Abkhazia.
The diplomats exchanged views on the current agenda of the Pridnestrovian-Abkhaz interaction, and outlined activity plans for 2024. Particular focus was placed on the prospects for implementing joint projects in educational, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
