A meeting of experts (working groups) on health issues took place today at the OSCE Mission’s office in Tiraspol.
The main topic of the meeting was the situation with the Moldovan side preventing the service of X-ray equipment in the Pridnestrovian medical institutions.
For two months, Moldova has been blocking the transit of X-ray equipment for a computer tomograph at the Republican Hospital for the Disabled of the Great Patriotic War, and has been making unacceptable political demands.
At the meeting, the Pridnestrovian side suggested its proposals to settle the situation within the existing legal framework of the negotiating process. Negotiators stressed that the citizens’ right to quality medical care should not be restricted and outlined the need to remove the unjustified political obstacles to the operation of the Pridnestrovian healthcare institution as soon as possible.
