President of Pridnestrovie Vadim Krasnoselsky and Steven Fisher Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of His Majesty King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Moldova met at the PMR Presidential Administration.
The president outlined for the British diplomats Pridnestrovie’s position on the situation around our state. “We are traditionally neutral to the external factor. And in the end, our goal, naturally, is peace, which can only be maintained and achieved as a result of negotiations. This is our common concept that we have been following all along. Although I believe there have been attempts to unsettle the situation here through terrorist attacks,” Vadim Krasnoselsky said.
In turn, Ambassador Steven Fisher said that such a protracted conflict between Pridnestrovie and Moldova can only be solved through negotiation and dialogue. The diplomat was also interested in how the Head of State sees the situation in relations between Tiraspol and Chisinau.
“Moldova is trying to create economic and energy problems for Pridnestrovie. In my opinion, this is irrational and will end in no good. I would very much like to see reasonable and pragmatic negotiators, who do not engage in political demagoguery, but are able to make decisions that are beneficial to the sides,” the PMR President noted.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on a number of topical issues. Special attention was paid to the issues of energy stability. They also touched upon the current regional and international situation.
