Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga is Acting Head of EEAS Division Dealing with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, and Moldova. This is her first visit to Pridnestrovie within this appointment. Her delegation was received by the PMR President. Welcoming the guests, Vadim Krasnoselsky stressed the relevance of the dialogue and significance of European diplomatic involvement in the negotiation process is. The Head of Pridnestrovie focused on the stagnation of the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian negotiations, the consequences of the neighbouring republic’s failure to fulfil the previously reached agreements, and the accumulation of problematic aspects. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the humanitarian issues, i.e. the economy, entrepreneurship, banking. The already difficult situation was worsened by the developments along the perimeter of Pridnestrovie. The President of the PMR called the task number one to ensure civil peace and security. He also spoke about the energy crisis, which has a negative impact on the current situation and complicates the relationship between the participants in the negotiation process.

Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga told that she maintains working contacts with the OSCE representatives and discussed the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian issue with them. She called the energy crisis a new challenge, and its tackling is a further opportunity for constructive cooperation. Participant to the meeting, Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, Janis Mazeiks, also spoke about the willing to contribute to the solution of the accumulated and emerging problematic aspects.

The interlocutors discussed in detail the issues of mutual concern, outlined a plan for further interaction, agreeing to maintain a working dialogue.
