The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandr Stetsiuk with representatives of the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) Catrin Gosby, Marianna Pateraki and Tania Marcello.
The DRC delegation came to Pridnestrovie on an informational visit to identify the humanitarian needs of the Ukrainian refugees, as well as to determine the support that the organization can provide.
At the request of the guests, Alexandr Stetsiuk spoke about the system of support for refugees operating in Pridnestrovie, the centers of temporary accommodation functioning in the republic, as well as areas of assistance provided and its gratuitous nature for citizens who arrived from Ukraine.
A special emphasis was made on the Law on Measures of State Support for Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons Arriving from Ukraine and Temporarily Staying on the Territory of the PMR adopted in the republic on April 20 this year and the set of measures of state support for refugees in the field of labor relations, social protection and education regulated by this document.
The Danish delegation was also informed about the experience of Pridnestrovie’s cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN specialized agencies in the field of refugee issues.
Concluding the meeting the interlocutors agreed to maintain contacts on topical humanitarian issues.
