Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross Visits Pridnestrovie

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev received members of the International Committee of the Red Cross. During the dialogue, Head of the ICRC Delegation Roman Machover informed that he was completing his mission and introduced Doris El Doueihi as his successor.

The meeting was held as part of the ICRC Delegation’s working visit the purpose of which was to proceed with elaborating certain aspects of assistance to Ukrainian refugees and their host families in Pridnestrovie.

Vitaly Ignatiev told that Pridnestrovie is currently helping refugees with its own resources and will continue these efforts, noting that about 37,500 refugees have entered Pridnestrovie since February 24.

“We would like to thank you for the support you have given us. Since our last meeting, we started with two refugee families, and today about 1,200 such families are receiving our relief,” Roman Machover said.

The representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross announced their intent to expand activities in assisting refugees in Pridnestrovie and received assurances from the head of the Foreign Ministry that organization’s humanitarian initiatives would be supported.
