Medication Import Experts Held a Regular Meeting

05/06/22

A videoconference meeting between the Pridnestrovian and Moldovan experts on the import of medicines took place today, involving representatives of pharmaceutical companies from Pridnestrovie. The session was also attended by representatives of the mediators in the negotiation process and the WHO delegation in Moldova.

The meeting was initiated amid the continuing administrative barriers and constraints in the delivery through the territory of Moldova of vital and socially important medication intended for the population and health facilities of Pridnestrovie.

The Pridnestrovian side regretted that since the field experts last convened on 13 April this year, Moldova has not taken any practical steps to normalize the situation with medication supplies, which has already caused shortage of certain drugs in Pridnestrovie.

In the course of the exchange, the parties agreed upon the necessary coordinated efforts at the earliest date to overcome existing complexities and eliminate politicized bureaucratic hurdles to provide the population of Pridnestrovie with in-demand medicines.

The Pridnestrovian side reiterated its appeal to ensure the passage of a number of withheld medicines that remain on the territory of the Republic of Moldova for several months already.
