On November 23-24, an international environmental seminar held in Stockholm was attended by a representative of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry along with delegates from Armenia, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine and relevant international and intergovernmental organizations.
Within the framework of the seminar, discussions were held on common environmental challenges and problems, possible approaches to solving them, including the impact of climate change on the environment and water resources. The participants of the event presented reports with an overview of existing environmental risks at the regional level and cases of cross-border cooperation.
The representative of the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie presented the mechanism of expert (working) groups operating within the framework of the negotiation process with the Republic of Moldova and, in particular, the ongoing discussions on environmental issues, as well as the experience of interaction with various international organizations and environmental projects implemented under their auspices in the republic. Special emphasis was placed in the speech on the need for inclusive participation of all stakeholders in the work carried out within the framework of regional cooperation and integrated water resources management in the Dniester River basin.
